Venting a little frustration Tuesday, 21 June 10:03 pm

after watching todays netwerk it seems likely to me that rita verdonks head is finally going to roll tomorow. either that, or we really are turning into our patriot act wielding overlords.

CDA & VVD voters, next time let us not vote for parties that were ever so eager to rule with a headless LPF. As it is now, one shallow bitch will just be replaced by the next.

oh, wait, I am sorry I forgot that money is everything, and that on the 8th day the lord gave the world to the white white west.

Rest asured, Holland is now a slightly safer & less overcrowded place. You may return to your shopping.

7 reasons to love linux Wednesday, 29 June 6:07 pm

1: 'it' has decided that the icons on my top panel are not to be drawn unless something explicitly requests it to. I am now confronted with the choice of either dragging it to the top of my screen and down again, or installing something like geyes which forces a redraw as soon as my mouse moves.

2: about twice a month, 'it' decides lissette does not have access rights to the audio device.

3: once 'it' even decided lissette does not have access to the cd-drive.

4: 'it' decided that only lissette can rip mp3's without grip crashing after half a song. note the irony in combination with points 2 and 3. my 64 bit athlon 3200+ is accomplishing this daunting task at the speed of 0.2x.

5: about twice a month, 'it' decides lissette does not have access rights to my 3d hardware

6: about once a month, 'it' decides I don't have the rights to access my 3d hardware

7: 'it' decided that i am the sole owner of lissette's mp3 player that I gave her. despite me being the owner, Neither I nor root could do a thing to change this. Obviously I had to turn of seLinux.

do not touch this monstrousity with a ten foot pole i say... it will consume your life.
